Fairly quiet scenes around Fulton Countypublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 23 August 2023

Reporting from Atlanta
I've just landed in Atlanta, where Donald Trump is expected to surrender to authorities tomorrow and a steady stream of his alleged co-conspirators have appeared for booking at the Fulton County jail.
Not long ago, Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer and his highest-profile co-defendant in the Georgia case, was booked into the jail a little earlier.
The surrender comes just hours before the first Republican debate.
As things stand, the Fulton County courthouse - about a 20 minute drive from the jail - maintains a heavy police presence outside but is otherwise a fairly standard scene.
That will certainly change in a couple weeks' time if District Attorney Fani Willis is able to hold Trump and his co-defendants to a 5 September arraignment date.
