    Ronald L Butler, from Maryland State Police, explains there were divers working from all areas to find the victims.

    He said: "When the superstructure is removed, the divers will go back out and bring the families closure."

    We're hearing more about people who lost their lives in the bridge collapse.

    Divers found the two victims' bodies about 10:00 EST (15:00 GMT), Maryland police say.

    They used airbags around the vehicles, and tried to tow it toward shore, but discovered it would be impossible to bring the vehicle all the way up.

    So they removed the bodies from the truck and brought them to the medical examiner.

    Governor Moore reiterates that the first responders "moved heroically" following the accident, saying they were able to both stop cars driving onto the bridge and warn the people already on it what was happening.

    "In fact one of the survivors...one of the things he mentioned to me was, as he was moving off the bridge, and literally saw the bridge fall right after he moved off, it was because it was a first responder who was telling him to move off the bridge," he says.

    Maryland Governor Wes Moore is back up speaking.

    He said: "We know the mayday call came in because of power issues and the inability to steer the vessel."

    He adds that what happened is still under investigation.

    Moore is asked about the power issue on Dali.

    He responds: "We don't have a confirmed answer as to what the power issue was and we do not have further details until a further investigation is completed."

    Baltimore's Mayor Brandon Scott is now asking for folks to have "decency and respect".

    "Don't spread misinformation, don't play bridge engineer... online and in the media," he says.

    He says people lost their lives trying to make transit better for the rest of the city.

    Senior adviser to the president, Tom Perez, is up now, speaking in both English and Spanish.

    He said: "President Biden grieves for these victims and he is no stranger to tragedy.

    "We are all in this together. When the president first heard about this he brought everyone together and directed us to make sure that we are doing everything possible.

    "Success occurs when we work together. I met with the families and it is truly tragic. The president has directed us to move heaven and earth."

    In Spanish Perez said the situation is "very sad" and the president "is with the families of the victims and understands the difficulties for everyone and we will continue this work for everyone affected".

    Mayor Brandon Scott now addresses the families of the victims, telling them that "my heart, and the heart of the entire city of Baltimore, is with you and will be with you forever".

    He goes on to thank the city's emergency service workers.

    "Thank you for being fearless and selfless and for putting your life at risk to save others," he says.

    Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen says officials are determined to fix the bridge and will attempt to pursue 10% of the cost "through the legislative process".

    The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting a review of the incident, and if the ship operator or anyone else is liable for negligence or wrongdoing, "you can be assured that we will be pursuing those funds", he says.

    Senator Cardin says he saw first-hand how "extremely challenging" the diving activities were to help locate bodies.

    US Senator Ben Cardin is now up, saying he's confident "thanks to the Biden administration" they will get the help they need to provide the necessary resources to make the recovery complete.

    "Our top priority is to get the shipping lane open because of the impact it has on our country and the global supply chain.

    "We are also working on a replacement bridge, so we can have those plans in place to reconstruct the bridge as quickly as possible."

    Cardin adds: "We appreciate that the government will be there every step of the way."

    Paul Wiedefeld, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation, is now speaking. He says the state "intends to receive federal dollars very quickly" to start the process of reconstruction.

    "We will come up with a design for the replacement of that bridge as quickly as possible to get the port back up and the community back up and running," he says.

    Divers are no longer able to safely navigate the waters because of concrete and debris found in the water, Maryland police say.

    An official says police have used sonar scans and believe that the vehicles are "encased in superstructure and concrete" that came down from the bridge.

    "The port handles more cars and farm equipment than any other port in the country. Last year alone the port handled $80bn of cargo; the most in the country."
