The Los Angeles pop band later in the evening appeared on The X Factor.
Speaking backstage JLS's Aston addressed tabloid rumours suggesting he is in a relationship with X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon. He said: "She's very cute - I've only met the girl once and she was a nice girl. Not really, 'Watch this space'."
Former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke played a short set which included chart topping songs Bad Boys and Hallelujah.
Other highlights included a performance from Swansea's Shaheen Jafargholi, who sang a cover of Bill Withers' Lean On Me.
He left the event to complete his history homework as he's still attending school.
"It's a report on each of Henry's six wives," he explained.
Last year's event saw performances Fall Out Boy, McFly and Ne-Yo.
