Singer and X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is expecting her first child

Dannii Minogue has revealed that she's still in talks about her role on this year's X Factor.

The 38-year-old is expecting her first child with partner Kris Smith in July and will miss the start of the TV auditions the month before.

Speaking at the launch of her clothes range, she said: "We're talking about X Factor at the moment but there's nothing I can say right now."

In an interview with Newsbeat earlier this month, fellow judge Louis Walsh said he hoped Dannii Minogue would return saying she gave 100% to her acts and that nobody could replace her.

There has also been speculation that Dannii Minogue will return for the live finals later in the year after she's had her baby in Australia and that she'll be paid £700,000.

The singer is keeping herself busy before the birth of her first child this summer with the launch of a clothes range, Project D, her collaboration with designer Tabitha Somerset-Webb.

The clothes line, which goes on sale in June, includes day, cocktail, evening and red carpet dresses ranging in price from £210 to £485.

But she said they hadn't designed any maternity wear, despite her being pregnant.

"We didn't plan it that way," she admitted. "This range was made before I knew that I was pregnant.

"But luckily the dress that I have on tonight, full length black sequin, we did in stretch sequin.

"I've had a few comments tonight already, some guys saying, 'My wife. She's pregnant. She would love that. I've got to get hold of that dress'.

"It just happened to fit and work. As I will be dropping in a hospital, our clothing range will be dropping in stores."

Dannii Minogue also revealed that she knew the sex of her baby but wanted to keep it a secret.

She said that partner Chris had already come up with a few names though.

"Chris has got a list of names and there's a couple that I really like," she admitted. "But that's it. That's all I can say. This is our secret."
