Kasabian have struck a deal with the football Premier League to use the band's hit Fire for the next three years.

The deal will see the Leicester band's song used before and after live matches shown in over 200 countries where the English top league is broadcast.

However, the UK and Ireland will not use the track.

The Premier League is estimated to be watched by 1 billion people worldwide.

Fire, which peaked at number three in the UK singles chart when it was released in June 2009, appears on the band's most recent album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.

The license is the result of of talks between the band's record label Sony and the Premier League.

Earlier this year, lead singer Tom Meighan helped launched Umbro's official England shirt ahead of their World Cup campaign.
