Michael Buble lashes out at X Factor miming claims

Michael Buble has branded critics who claimed he mimed on the X Factor "idiots".

Speaking on the Scott Mills show he says he was "shocked" people thought he wasn't singing live.

He had a direct message for anyone who thought he was miming: "Whoever you are writing on these blogs if you think that I'm miming you're an idiot."

He says it was obvious that it wasn't a recording: "Did they not listen to me I was flat and out of breath."

Buble wasn't well and says he had to change his performance.

"I had to go down a key because I was sick and couldn't hit the notes," he admitted.

"If I was going to lip synch wouldn't I just do it to my recording."

Mic technique

Many people thought he held his mic too far away from his mouth to sing live.

But Buble says that was proper mic technique, saying people are "too used to seeing people jam mics in their faces because they're lip synching."

He says miming is something he'd never do on a TV show: "Absolutely not I never have, never in my life.

"I have mimed for videos but never have I mimed for a live TV show."

There's good news for Cheryl Cole, who many thought mimed quite a bit of her performance on the same show.

Buble thinks miming is OK for some singers: "I think if you're dancing it's acceptable."
