Pop star Willow Smith is to play the lead role in a remake of Broadway musical Annie co-produced by Jay-Z.
The hook-up comes as the rapper joins forces with Willow Smith's parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith to start a new film production company.
In a statement Jay-Z said the move into production "is a perfect next step with teams that are accomplished, creative and innovative".
He added: "We're developing a true superstar in Willow."
New company
The trio, who've set up Overbrook Entertainment, have previously made investments together in projects such as a beauty line and also co-produced the Broadway musical Fela!, now being performed in London.
They will now tackle the musical film, originally released in 1982.
In December 2010 the 10-year-old singer reached number two in the official UK singles chart with her debut single Whip Me Hair.
The young singer is also signed to Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation.
Willow Smith is also to support Justin Bieber on his UK arena tour in May.
