Arctic Monkeys will play two gigs in Sheffield in June

Arctic Monkeys have announced details of two 10,000 capacity shows in their home town of Sheffield.

The foursome will play the gigs at the city's Don Valley Bowl on 10 and 11 June.

Miles Kane, who works with Alex Turner in the duo's side project The Last Shadow Puppets, will support the band on both nights.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 11 February with The Vaccines and Anna Calvi also playing a night each.

Arctic Monkeys are in the US recording their forthcoming fourth album with producer James Ford.

A spokesman for the venue said the band were keen to play the gigs in a "more creative" setting and were considering using a marquee.

In a statement the band said: "We're really looking forward to playing Sheffield with our special guests. It's great doing our own event and it's going to be a wonderful couple of days in our hometown."
