The Chemical Brothers have been announced as the headliner of this year's Creamfields festival.

The dance act will perform at Daresbury in Cheshire on Saturday 27 August, a bank holiday weekend.

Other acts confirmed include David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Calvin Harris, Magnetic Man and Josh Wink.

The line-up was announced on Radio 1 on Friday night on Annie Mac's show, who is also DJ'ing at the event.

The BBC station is the exclusive radio partner for the festival this year and BBC Radio 1Xtra will have a special arena featuring the likes of Digital Soundboy System and Goldie.

The Chemical Brothers are also headlining this summer's RockNess and Wireless festivals and are appearing at Glastonbury.

They last appeared at Creamfields in 2007 and released their seventh studio album Further last year.

Creamfields moved to Daresbury in 2006 after seven years in Liverpool.
