Supermarket Tesco is selling tickets for gigs from artists like Olly Murs

Tesco has launched a service for customers to buy affordable tickets to see summer concerts from the likes of Olly Murs and Eliza Doolittle.

The supermarket is selling tickets on its website for open air shows taking place at racecourse venues across the UK in June, July and August.

There are no booking fees or postage charges involved.

The company's entertainment director says the offer is "simple - one ticket, one price, no hidden costs".

Rob Salter added: "We know customers want to buy tickets for live music events but are often faced with unexpected and additional fees."

The service is also making tickets available to gigs from the likes of ex-X Factor contestant Alexandra Burke, Scouting For Girls, Scissor Sisters, Boyzone, Beach Boys and Blondie.

Venues where the concerts are taking place include Carlisle, Newmarket, Epsom, Sandown, Kempton Park and Warwick.

This is the first time the supermarket has sold tickets for live events.

They have partnered with the music industry before. Last year they released albums from Faithless and Girls Aloud's Nadine Coyle.

A spokesman said ticket prices ranged from £12 to £33.
