Nero say they would like their next project to be a film soundtrack.

The dubstep duo from London, who scored their first UK number one single with Promises last week, said they'd like to write the music for a film like 80s action movie Blade Runner.

"A soundtrack which fits that kind of film would be great," said one of the duo Dan Stephens.

The BBC's Sound of 2011 nominees released their debut album Welcome Reality this week.

New experiences

It has been a year of firsts for the pair.

In January they released their debut single You & Me and played their first live show at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in May.

They also performed with the BBC's Philharmonic orchestra for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra in June.

"After doing the symphony a few months ago we just enjoyed making it so much," said Stephens.

"We love that sound of a cinematic, classic Hollywood file score clashed with synthesizers and cool electronic music."

The group, who play live with singer Alana Watson, are signed to Chase & Status' label MTA.

Since writing their first tracks together nine years ago their debut album Welcome Reality is finally hitting shelves.

They explained it's been influenced by three albums in particular; Radiohead's OK Computer, Daft Punk's Discovery and Marvin Gaye's What's Going On.

Joe Ray explained that he thought each of those albums was "timeless".

"The way we want this album to be listened to is beginning to end - when you do that it puts the songs much more in perspective."

They will now take their live show, which they describe as "a stack of 80s televisions and ghetto blasters with a big arcade machine", out on the road for a UK tour in the autumn.
