Rebecca Ferguson is to release her debut single Nothing's Real But Love on 27 November.

The 24-year-old finished second in last year's X Factor series behind winner Matt Cardle.

The song, written by Rebecca Ferguson herself and her writing partner Eg White, is taken from her debut album which will be released a week later on 5 December.

The record contains new material, all co-written by the Liverpudlian singer.

Nothing's Real But Love is described by her record company Sony Music as a modern soul song.

Speaking about the single, she said: "I've loved writing and recording the album throughout this year so I'm really excited for everyone to hear it.

"I feel like I've learned a lot about myself going through the writing process, putting my experiences on paper and into the tracks.

"It's a record I'm really proud of."
