Coldplay will release their new album, Mylo Xyloto, in October

Coldplay, Example, Kasabian and Noah & the Whale will perform shows as part of this year's BBC Radio 1 student tour.

The artists will headline university gigs in Aberdeen, Hatfield, Leicester and Norwich between Monday 24 and Thursday 27 October.

Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show will be live from a student bar every morning from 10am.

Tickets for the events are being sold via the official websites of each artist taking part.

Zane Lowe will also broadcast highlights from the gigs in the evenings on Radio 1 from 7pm.

Mark Ronson, Chase & Status and 30 Seconds To Mars have been part of Radio 1's student tour in the past.

Speaking about the shows, Fearne Cotton said: "After last year's student tour I'm so looking forward to our second adventure.

"Hitting up four different unis again with huge bands and artists is so exciting.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the students of each uni and bringing them some great music.

"Having an on-air alliance with Zane's show is gonna be a lot of fun again too as we had such a laugh last time."

The full dates are as follows:

Hatfield Forum - Example - 25
