Wretch 32 has told Newsbeat he has started recording his next album.
The rapper says he may release the follow-up to Black And White as early as 2012.
"The thing is, I always want to give the fans fresh music. I don't want to be doing the same show for two years," he said.
"I just want to do it for six months, but then have new material, and keep it moving. So I'm hoping for a new album next year."
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Jermaine Scott, says he has already recorded some material.
He told Newsbeat: "We've got a few tracks down, but knowing me those ones will probably not even end up on the album.
"I keep chopping and changing, but right now I feel like I've got two songs that are strong enough for the album, two definite."
Wretch 32 has already had top five hits with Don't Go, Traktor and Unorthodox - a collaboration with Example.
