The Killers' new album is due out this year

The Stone Roses, The Killers, Noel Gallagher and Snow Patrol have been revealed as the headliners for this year's V Festival.

The event's first line-up announcement also named the likes of Nicki Minaj, Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran and Example.

Taking place on 18 and 19 August across sites in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, V tickets go on sale on Friday 2 March.

More acts for the festival's four stages will be announced by organisers in the coming months.

The Stone Roses, who announced they were reforming last year, have already sold out their own headline shows in Manchester's Heaton Park and are also playing at July's T in the Park festival.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play before The Stone Roses at V, while the other day of the festival features Snow Patrol warming up for The Killers.

The Las Vegas band's front man, Brandon Flowers, recently told Radio 1 that The Killers' new album is definitely coming out this year.

Other acts also announced by V's organisers include: David Guetta, Emeli Sande, James Morrison, Professor Green, Pixie Lott, Maverick Sabre, Olly Murs, Labrinth and Rizzle Kicks.
