Paloma Faith and Scissor Sister's Ana Matronic are joining The Voice as "battle advisers".

Coaches Jessie J, will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue will each be joined by a musician friend for the next stage of the competition.

Ana Matronic is pairing with Jessie J, Paloma Faith with O'Donoghue and will.i.am will have his former Black Eyed Peas bandmate Dante Santiago.

Sir Tom Jones has chosen to work with BBC 6 Music's Cerys Matthews.

The pair duetted in 2007 on the song Baby It's Cold Outside.

Once the blind auditions are finished on The Voice, the show moves into its battle rounds, which is why the four newcomers are being called battle advisers.

Each coach and adviser will work with their selected 10 contestants to improve their vocals and overall performance, before whittling down to have five contestants each.

Paloma Faith, Ana Matronic, Cerys Matthews and Dante Santiago will be seen on the BBC One show in the next few weeks.
