The British Army has said it will investigate accusations that one of its soldiers made racist comments to singer Lily Allen on Twitter.
The 27-year-old tweeted her complaint to the British Army over comments made on 20-year-old Harry Wilson's Twitter account.
"@BritishArmy do you condone @harrywil2010 racist comments? His profile says he is in the British Army. He needs disciplining."
The account has since been taken down.
A Ministry of Defence (MoD) spokesperson said that it would need to establish whether Harry Wilson was part of the armed forces.
The MoD said that anyone who fell short of the Army's high standards would have "appropriate action" taken against them.
"Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Lily. We do not condone racism. We'll investigate," tweeted the British Army.
Harry Wilson claimed on Twitter that his comments were meant as a joke and "harmless fun".
Harry Wilson's Facebook page has also since been removed.
