Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber win Teen Choice Awards

Taylor Swift has picked up five prizes at this year's Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The star, 22, won the choice music female artist and female country artist categories as well as voice actress for her role in animated comedy The Lorax.

She said: "I just feel so honoured that I get to have you guys in my life."

Justin Bieber won four awards, as well as performing his latest single, with Former X Factor group One Direction picking up three awards.

They were voted best summer music star group, breakout group and love song (What Makes You Beautiful).

Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe won song of the summer.

'Extreme honour'

Twilight picked up the ultimate choice award, the Teen Choice version of a lifetime achievement award.

The vampire film franchise has now won 41 surfboard-shaped trophies since 2008.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were there to pick up their latest Teen Choice Awards.

"This award especially is an extreme honour," said Taylor Lautner. "It's amazing you guys are still around and just as strong and just as loyal.

"It's a true testament to all the support you've given us over the years."

Kristen Stewart was honoured as the choice romance movie actress for Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and as choice female summer movie star for Snow White & the Huntsman.

Other multiple winners included the movie The Hunger Games, actress Emma Stone, singer Miley Cyrus, TV show Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries.

Justin Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez won the choice music group trophy.

To celebrate her birthday, she was given a cake and the crowd inside LA's Gibson Amphitheatre sang her Happy Birthday.

Other winners included Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Rihanna, Glee and Maroon 5.

Host and new X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato said 134 million votes were cast for the 14th annual awards.

They honour film, TV, music and sports stars in categories including choice hottie, villain, lip-lock and hissy fit.
