Robbie Williams has announced three intimate gigs for September

Robbie Williams' new album Take The Crown is to be released on 5 November.

His ninth studio album will be accompanied by a new single called Candy, which comes out on 29 October.

Robbie also recently announced a string of intimate gigs in the run-up to the new album.

The former Take That star will play headline shows at Leeds Academy, Glasgow Barrowland and Southend Cliffs Pavilion in September.

His new album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jacknife Lee and features an orchestra on some tracks.

The 38-year-old has sold more than 60 million albums during his solo career.

Tracks on the new album include: Be a Boy, Gospel, Hunting for You, All That I Want, Different and Hey Wow Yeah Yeah.

Robbie's upcoming tour will see him perform at some of the venues he first played as a solo artist 15 years ago.

Fans were asked to register their details on his official website by 2 September, with successful applicants being contacted by midday on 4 September.

Robbie also recently teased fans by tweeting, external a picture of himself sat behind a drum kit.

The star re-joined Take That in 2010 as the group released their first new music together for 15 years.

He also joined them on their record breaking Progress UK stadium tour in 2011.
