Open auditions for the next series of Britain's Got Talent are starting again, with the first one taking place in Glasgow on 16 October.

The talent show production team will be scouting ahead of the judges' audition tour which is scheduled to take place in early 2013.

They will be visiting seven cities across the UK, including London, Belfast and for the first time, Sheffield.

Performers of any age can audition.

Last year the competition was won by performing dog act, Ashleigh and Pudsey, who beat Only Boys Aloud, Jonathan & Charlotte and Loveable Rogues in the live final.

The programme's executive producer, Sam Donnelly, said: "Britain's Got Talent is a show like no other and after a fantastic series in 2012 we want to make sure that our next series is packed to the rafters with the very best variety talent around too.

"We have high hopes for all the cities and we're determined to find even more talent than ever before."

This will be the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent and will feature the same judging panel as last year.

Simon Cowell will again be joined by singer Alesha Dixon, comedian and author David Walliams and actress Amanda Holden.

And & Dec are also returning to present the show.
