Hip-hop star Flavor Flav has been arrested for assaulting his fiancee and threatening to kill her teenage son.

A report by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the rapper threw his girlfriend of eight years to the floor twice while armed with two knives.

It's then thought the star chased her 17-year-old son.

The star denied threatening the teenager, who was not hurt.

It is not known whether 39-year-old Elizabeth Trujillo needed medical treatment.

The rapper is being held on $23,000 (£14,231) bail at the Clark County jail while waiting for an initial court appearance.

He was an original member of Public Enemy, who had chart success in the 1980s and 90s.

The rap group are also nominees to be included in this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
