The winner of series two of the The X Factor USA, Tate Stevens, has confirmed the release date of his debut album.

The self-titled record will be available from 23 April.

"For someone that has dreamt of recording and releasing music for over a decade, to say I'm excited is an understatement," says Tate Stevens.

"I feel like the songs we selected for the album are a real reflection of my personality. They range from fun-loving to serious and everything in between."

'So proud'

The lead single, Power of a Love Song, had already been released to country music radio stations in the US earlier this month.

The 37-year-old is credited with co-writing three of the other tracks on his new album, which Nashville producer Blake Chancey has worked on.

"I'm so proud of this album and can't wait for the fans to hear it," Tate Stevens adds.

Mentored by L.A. Reid, Tate Stevens beat fellow finalists, 13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar and girl group Fifth Harmony.

Both L.A. Reid and Britney Spears have stepped down from the judging panel of The X Factor USA which is due to return for a third series later this year.
