Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine to marry model girlfriend

Adam Levine, lead singer with Maroon 5, has got engaged to his model girlfriend.

The 34-year-old musician has been dating Behati Prinsloo, who is originally from Namibia, since last year.

He is thought to have proposed to her in Los Angeles over the weekend.

A representative for Adam Levine confirmed the news and said the pair had recently reunited after breaking up.

Maroon 5 released their fourth album, Overexposed, last year which featured hits like Payphone, Daylight and Love Somebody.

Adam Levine also features as one of the coaches on The Voice in the US.

He has had a recurring role in the show American Horror Story: Asylum and has also signed on to feature in the film Can a Song Save Your Life?

The movie will star British actors James Corden and Keira Knightley.

Behati Prinsloo, 24, is best known for her work as a model for the American lingerie company Victoria's Secret.

She was discovered by model scout Sarah Doukas while on holiday in South Africa as a 16-year-old.
