One Direction's Best Song Ever breaks Vevo record

One Direction's video for Best Song Ever has broken the record for most views on Vevo in 24 hours.
The music video site announced that within 24 hours of being released, the video had received 12.3 million views.
Best Song Ever is being used as a promotional track for One Direction's upcoming 3D movie This Is Us.
Miley Cyrus' video for We Can't Stop held the previous record with 10.7 million views in its first day online.
In the video all the members of the band dress up a fictional characters from a record label.
Niall Horan wears a beard to play a studio executive, Zayn Malik dresses as a woman for his role as an assistant while Harry Styles dons nerdy glasses as a confused marketing worker.
Styles told his 14.48 million twitter followers that "you took a normal day and made it a very special one for us" and Liam Payne tweeted: "Caaaaant believe you amazing fans have broken the record for vevo views!!!! We owe it all to youuuuuu!! Thank you all so so muchhhhh!!!!!"
The Best Song Ever video features numerous clips from the film, many of which had been released in the trailer. It was directed by Ben Winston and shot in Miami.
One Direction announced a world stadium tour for 2014 in May with five dates in the UK.
One Direction: This is Us is set for release on 30 August.
