MTV to honour Eminem with special award at the EMAs

Eminem will be honoured by MTV with the Global Icon Award at the EMAs in Amsterdam on Sunday night.
The rapper joins a list of previous winners including Bon Jovi, Queen and Whitney Houston.
He will also be at the ceremony in Amsterdam on Sunday night and possibly performing.
"A lot of thought goes into who could possibly be appropriate." Bruce Gilmer from MTV said.
"This man, has sold over 80 million records.
"I think everyone agrees, Eminem is one of the most creative and unique artists of our time."
'Secret wiggle'
Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Katy Perry and Kings of Leon are some of the big names confirmed for performances.
The award show will be hosted by Redfoo from LMFAO as the intergalactic MC.
He is looking forward to one act in particular.
"Miley of course, I just want to see what she is going to do," he said.
"Yesterday I actually refused to watch her rehearsal because I want to be just as shocked because I am a fan."
He also promised lots of outfit changes and explained how he will not be upstaged by the other artists.
"I want everyone to shine but I have the mic, I have the secret wiggle," he said.
"It's about supporting everyone but i think I have the most segments, the most camera time."
Dutch DJ Afrojack is nominated for Best Electronic Act but admits he has tough competition.
"We have Calvin Harris, we have Avicii, we have Daft Punk, these people are all legends, they release gigantic albums," he said.
"I'm actually really excited that I am performing and being allowed to perform the way I am," he added.
"Not just for me but for the entire community of DJs, it's a big step ahead."
He also said it was great to have such big names in his country.
"My manager came to wake me up and walked past Will Ferell from Anchorman in the gym," he said.
"It is really exciting to be here with all these people and party with them."
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the way with five nominations each for the awards on Sunday.
Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus all have four.
Guest presenters on the night include Ellie Goulding, Jared Leto and Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy from Anchorman 2.
It was also announced today Glasgow will host the 2014 MTV EMAs.
It is part of 'Homecoming Scotland' which sees a number of major events being held in the country.
The Commonwealth Games and The Ryder Cup are the two that have been announced so far.
