Kelis, Ella Eyre, Chloe Howl and Jungle are among the first acts to be confirmed for this year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

The event, which aims to showcase emerging music talent, will take place between 8-10 May.

Artists will perform in more than 30 venues, including the Brighton Dome where Kelis will headline on the Saturday.

BBC Sound of 2014 runner-up Ella Eyre will support the American R&B singer.

"I'm really excited to be back at The Great Escape," said the 19-year-old. "I had a great time last year, so to be back and playing alongside Kelis will be incredible."

"The Great Escape prides itself on showcasing the very best upcoming talent," said Festival Director Kat Morris.

"We aim to produce a line-up which shows a true cross section of emerging artists, locally and internationally.

"And offer hundreds of incredible gigs, accessible to festival-goers with just one wristband. We're really excited by how this year's line-up is shaping up."

There will also be a daytime programme featuring music industry discussion panels and workshops.

Artists who have played Great Escape in the past include Adele, Bastille and Alt-J.
