Arctic Monkeys have been revealed as headliners for this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Joining them at the event in August will be You Me At Six, The 1975 and Issues.

At the end of last year, organisers revealed Blink-182 were one of the headliners for the festival, which will take place between 22 and 24 August.

"It's great, we're really excited," Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe.

"That festival, Leeds in particular, is the one we went to when we were starting the band so we've got a lot of history."

The Sheffield band, who first headlined the festival in 2009, are touring America.

"We have had a good time out here and we've got Madison Square Garden coming up," said Helders.

"The album's so much fun and we're not exhausted playing it yet, even to the point where we're not thinking about a new album."

Organisers have also revealed Radio 1's Annie Mac will be performing at the event.

She will be joined by SBTRKT, Warpaint and The Architects at both sites.

The Pit

Meanwhile, the rock stage at this year's festivals will be called The Pit.

The name was confirmed after a fan competition saw 5,000 votes cast.

The stage, previously known as The Lock Up, will be looked after by Radio 1 Rock Show host Daniel P Carter.
