George Clooney's not the only A-lister who loves a European wedding

We get it. Europe is pretty. And it makes for a good wedding spot.

It's definitely the case for American A-listers who love nothing better than to descend on glamorous locations across the continent for their big day.

And the wedding of one of the world's most famous bachelors, George Clooney, and Amal Alamuddin was no exception.

Hoards of Hollywood royalty descended on Venice in Italy to attend the ceremony.

There was also the typical celebrity circus with journalists in every crevice and locals trying to catch a glimpse.

So who else decided to bring a small enclave of Europe to a standstill so they could say "I do"?

Kim and Kayne: ITALY

The king and queen of opulence, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, chose Florence in Italy as the city to get married in.

They took over the 16th-century Fort Belvedere in May 2014, causing the world's paparazzi to step over one another to get a shot of the bride.

The day before the ceremony, the couple held a huge party in the only-slightly-less-shabby location of the Palace of Versailles in Paris.

It's a day Liverpool's Conor McDonnell won't forget - he was invited to be their official photographer.

Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt: FRANCE

After years of speculation, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally got married in the south of France in August 2014.

It took place at a small chapel in Chateau Mirval, which has been their second home since 2008.

It's located in the village of Correns, roughly half way between Marseilles and Nice.

All six of their children took part but, by A-list standards, it was relatively low-key.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: ITALY

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel took over a small part of Puglia in southern Italy for their 2012 nuptials.

They got married at a luxury resort near Ostuni, a prime spot for watching Mediterranean sunsets.

The singer even decided to pen a song especially for his wife as she walked down the aisle. Apparently.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: ITALY

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wed in 2006 in the floodlit Odescalchi castle near Rome in 2006.

The centre of the small town of Bracciano was sealed off for the wedding and extra police were brought in to keep snooping paparazzi at bay.

The marriage didn't last and the couple divorced in 2012.

Odescalchi castle was also the venue for the wedding of Bernie Ecclestone's daughter Petra.
