Taylor Swift's never been, Dave Grohl played when he was in Nirvana and we're guessing David Guetta isn't overly familiar with East Anglia.

But this weekend Norwich is hosting some of the biggest artists in the world.

Fifty-thousand people are expected at Earlham Park, in the centre of the city, over the next two days.

Muse, Fall Out Boy and Imagine Dragons are also playing at Europe's biggest free ticketed festival.

We could see a very different set from Clean Bandit who have been touring their debut album for the past year.

"We've got a couple of new surprises," teased Jack Patterson, fresh from their double Ivor Novello wins on Thursday.

"We've just been rehearsing for it all week and we've been playing around with new ideas," added Grace Chatto.

"We're doing a bit of a nod to another favourite of our nineties classics that we kind of grew up listening to."

So Clean Bandit do Blur or Oasis? We'll just have to wait to find out.

They're also promising some remixes of their older tracks and there will be a guest appearance.

"Rae Morris is going to perform with us, who is one of our favourite singers on our album and that's really exciting because she has got the most incredible voice."

Another great voice but a notable absentee is Sam Smith, who had surgery on his throat last week.

It means Catfish and The Bottlemen move over to the main stage and Lethal Bizzle slots into the In New Music We Trust line-up on Sunday.

George Ezra who admits he's not been practising with his band for a while, so what can we expect?

"As far as I am aware, we don't really know," he jokes.

"We've had a month off so it's going to be nice to get back in the room first, have a cup of tea and see how everyone is doing."

George and his band are playing in Oxford on Saturday before hitting the main stage in Norwich on Sunday.

Final touches are being made to the site today.

What will the artists be eating?

Mary Shelley Smith is in charge of catering and will oversee 300 breakfasts, 900 lunches and 1000 dinners for the likes of Years and Years, Olly Murs and Ella Eyre.

"We're doing some special after show food for some of the bands," she told us from a smoky kitchen.

"Obviously, we've got the normal allergies, intolerances, so we cater for all of those as well," she explained.

"Lots of veggies, vegans, pescatarians, fruitarians."

Sorry what? Fruitarians? Who only eats fruit?

Well not Muse, as far as we know, they are the only ones to have brought their own chef.

Live coverage of Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich will be on Radio 1 and 1Xtra across the weekend.
