Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin has asked fans to stop pestering him about storylines for the TV drama.
The author whose bestselling books, A Song of Ice and Fire, were adapted by HBO for the series, has been inundated with fans' comments on his blog, external.
"Please stop emailing me or posting off-topic comments," he asked.
Martin added that he wanted to concentrate on writing his new book, The Winds of Winter.
The 66-year-old, who is also the TV series' co-executive producer and scripts one episode in each season, directed fans' postings to other websites associated with the series.
"It is not my intention to get involved in those, nor to allow them to take over my blog and website, so please stop emailing me about them, or posting off-topic comments here on my Not A Blog.
"Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Any place that isn't here, actually."
This season of Thrones has seen a few shifts from Martin's material which has been met a with a mixed response.
The changes that have generally been praised by fans include the storyline when characters, Tyrion and Dany meet in Meereen, something that hasn't yet happened in the books.
There are some other moves that have generated controversy, such as Sansa marrying Ramsay.
On his blog, George R.R. Martin finished his post with a rather stubborn comment: "Yes, I know The Hollywood Reporter named me the third most powerful writer in Hollywood last December.
"You would be surprised at how little that means. I cannot control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts.
"What I can control is what happens in my books, so I am going to return to that chapter I've been writing on The Winds of Winter now, thank-you very much."
Game of Thrones season 5 finale is on Sky Atlantic at 9pm on Monday 15 June.
