The woman who spent an entire year in fancy dress

What links a pink gorilla, a strawberry and a sumo wrestler?
Sounds like the start of a bad joke but they're three of the 365 costumes worn by Eve Hazelton, who decided to spend an entire year in fancy dress.
The 29-year-old did it to raise money for breast cancer charity Coppafeel.
"I thought, whatever I'll do, I'll do it in fancy dress," Eve told Newsbeat. "Then I thought, what if the challenge was just wearing fancy dress for a long time?"

Eve gave away all her clothes (to friends, family and a charity shop) so that she wouldn't have an excuse to cheat or give up. She kept her underwear and shoes though.
"That made it quite extreme, maybe, but it definitely helped me stay on the straight and narrow, so to speak."
The hardest things for Eve initially were "day-to-day things like going to the gym and supermarket", but then came an event like a family funeral.

"For the funeral it was a toss-up between the Grim Reaper and the angel. After a long conversation with my husband we decided that the angel was probably the right way to go.
"It was a member of my husband's family and they were all really supportive. They seemed to be okay with it."

Eve was fortunate in that she works from home in Devon - she and her husband run their own film company.
But then there was the big client meeting where Eve was dressed as a giant elephant.
"My husband literally turned around to the client and said: 'We need to address the elephant in the room!'"

Eve said she never thought of cheating, but recalled her lowest point as the time she got the flu when dressed as Big Bird from Sesame Street.
"I was really quite poorly. I just remember thinking, I just want to be in pyjamas, I really don't want to be doing this anymore - with this giant head having flu sweats, feeling ridiculously awful.
"I genuinely wanted to give up - I was only three months in at that point so I'm glad I stuck with it."

Fancy dress shop Smiffys donated all of Eve's 365 costumes after she got in touch with them. She's been selling them on to raise more cash. Eve and her husband also ran 101 10Ks during the last 100 days.
She finished her fancy dress year on Tuesday, and has raised more than £26,000 so far.
Her favourite costumes were the musketeer and the pink gorilla.
"No one really knew it was me underneath, I could get away with running around town which was fun. It was a bit warm though - I did try running 10K in it and had to take the head off."

Children gave the best reactions, Eve said.
"I remember being dressed as Snow White. We went on holiday to Center Parcs and there was a kid there. I was walking through the forest and she was like, 'Oh mummy look, Snow White!' and she was so happy."

The worst reactions came in October, when Eve did a month of Halloween-themed costumes.
"I was dressed as a devil. I got a few shouts of abuse across the street of people saying some pretty nasty things, which was quite upsetting. A couple of times in supermarkets they moved their trolleys away from me or crossed the street."

Eve has been slowly rebuilding her wardrobe.
"It was my birthday, friends and family bought me clothes vouchers so I've bought a couple of things to restock the wardrobe.
"It's quite nice, liberating, refreshing starting again - reinventing myself as someone who doesn't dress in crazy colours and wigs all the time!"
