Reaction to Kanye's Yeezy 2 collection - high fashion or potato sacks?

Rapper, US presidential hopeful, voice of his generation (or so he says)... can Kanye West make it as a fashion designer too?

Kanye's showed off his Yeezy Season 2 collection at New York Fashion Week.

It's fair to say it's not gone down all too well with everyone on the internet.

Kourtney called them "oversized layers of rag fashion".

Artsoul Kojo called it irony that Kanye was "selling dirty homeless clothes at high prices to rich people".

Christopher Borgione described Kanye's clothes as potato sacks.

Terdoh tweeted: "This is what he gives us?"

Of course, there was an A-list celebrity turnout at the event.

Kanye's wife Kim and daughter North West came, along with several of the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

Kim tweeted a photo of her and her sisters.

Kim Kardashian posted a photo with the hashtag #NUDES.

Other stars there included Jaden Smith, Lorde and Drake.

Some people have (unflatteringly) compared Kanye's clothes to other well-known personalities and places.

Emilia compared Kanye's clothes to Walter White from Breaking Bad.

Sarah Gilman tweeted that it looks like Kanye went to Tatooine and stole all their clothes.

DJ CandleStick said they look like the Hunger Games.

A Walking Dead parody account compared the clothes to the zombie series.

Kanye has previously designed trainers with Adidas, such as this Yeezy Boost 350

Vogue magazine said: "The clothing played off of the same layered, deconstructed look West debuted at his fall 2015 show, with many looks including tights, body stockings, knits, and jackets.

"Everyone will be talking about the shoes. The Yeezy Duck boot was the footwear of choice on male and female models, though several women sported high-heeled boots. And the last guy out wore a pair of Adidas Yeezy Boosts."

Vogue Paris posted a photo of Kanye walking through his models.

GQ described the collection as "a series of drapey, dusty, military-inspired pieces that are unlike anything in the market today".

It added: "To Kanye West, this is his new passion. He's said in interviews that he cares more about this right now than music.

"The biggest question of all remains - will people actually buy these clothes?"
