You Me At Six could take the top position from Little Mix in the album charts on Friday.

If they're successful in the first major chart battle this year, it will be their second consecutive number one.

With a smile on his face, You Me At Six's frontman Josh Francesci said: "It's probably the biggest number one race there's been a while."

"I think it's great to see, a British rock band and a British pop band fighting for the number one."

In the mid-week charts the band's fifth album Night People is 1,800 copies ahead of Little Mix's Glory Days.

And both fan bases are fighting hard to convince people to help get them to number one.
