Pancake Day: The internet's best (and worst) pancake flips

It's Shrove Tuesday or, as it's more commonly known, Pancake Day.

If you're planning on getting involved, the basic recipe is really simple - flour, eggs, milk, a pinch of salt and a frying pan.

Mastering the flip, however, is arguably one of the hardest challenges to have faced mankind. Ever.

Here are some of the best, and worst, attempts available online - featuring forward rolls, robots and Brooklyn Beckham.

The good ones

Let's start on a positive note, shall we? This first flip is actually incredible.

This man manages to flip a pancake, do a forward roll, and then catch it again.

We think this next flipper might be a professional chef, but it's still impressive (it gets good from 01:12).

This video shows someone flipping pancakes really quickly.

Height is another important aspect of a successful flip. As a general rule, the higher the better.

This is quite a long watch, but there's something genuinely very funny about watching a robot learn to flip pancakes (if you're short on time, skip to 01:31 for the first successful attempt).

The not so good ones

There are also people out there who need a bit more practice. Definitely don't try this next one at home.

Another person on Vine had a similar problem.

Finally, we think David Beckham is being a bit harsh on Brooklyn in this video from last year.

He captioned it on Instagram: "How not to flip a pancake staring my son ❤️". It shows Brooklyn almost completing a spin during his flip.

Frankly, David's effort this year is a bit underwhelming in comparison.
