Ferne McCann says her pregnancy's been "stressful" in her first interview since announcing she was pregnant.

The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) star broke down in tears during the interview on ITV's This Morning.

Last month, Ferne's ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, who is the father of her unborn child, was charged over an acid attack at a club in east London.

The 24-year-old appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court in London on April 24 and was remanded in custody.

The attack left two people partially blinded and others badly injured.

She told Phil and Holly, "This isn't how I expected my first pregnancy to be, but it's not about what happened.

"It is about this baby."

As she started to cry, she added, "I'm going to be strong, I'm going to try and keep it together.

"I really don't want to cry. My main concern and priority is the baby.

"It has been such a stressful, surreal situation to be in, but I'm actually feeling good and positive."

Ferne said she found out she was pregnant two weeks before the nightclub attack and announced she was expecting earlier than she planned.

"I feel like I've had all of the symptoms! It started off with the nausea, crazy headaches that lead to vomiting and then morning sickness.

"I don't know why they call it morning sickness. I've been sick morning, noon and night! I'm coming out of that stage now and I'm feeling good."

"The public have been so amazing and so supportive and that is what's got me through."

Ferne says she's determined to be a good parent.

"I love a challenge, as you know, I think this is going to be the biggest one to date. But I'm so looking forward to it. I can't wait to meet my baby.

"The future for me, I'm not going to say it's going to be easy, but I'm excited and I just want to be the best possible mum I can be."

Arthur Collins will next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on May 22.
