The singer himself has not yet commented on the decision on, but his manager Scooter Braun has posted about it on Instagram.
He wrote: "An incredible run. Congrats to Justin Bieber on an incredible tour and thank you to the entire cast and crew for your unending support.
"To the fans from all over the world who took part over the last 16 months over six continents thank you.
"On behalf of myself, Justin, and the team, we are sorry. That was never our intent.
"But a man's soul and wellbeing I truly care about came first and we must all respect and honour that."
Are today's artists doing longer tours?
Doing 150 dates is a long tour by any stretch. But Justin Bieber's schedule isn't that different to what other stars have done over the years.
In 2006, Pink played 138 shows around the world. Jack Johnson (remember him?) played 83.
And going back 21 years to 1996, Celine Dion played a whopping 148 dates - and she hadn't even released the mega-selling My Heart Will Go on from Titanic by then.
What's different these days is the level of scrutiny.
Now that everyone has a camera, it's so much harder for stars to stay out of the public eye, even when they're desperate for a bit of privacy.
And speaking of social media, plenty of people have supported Justin's decision to pull out of touring, including singer-songwriter John Mayer.
Fans backed the musician's comment.
He's literally been on tour nonstop for 18 months. I would need a break too., external
