Cruelty cases in England and Wales 'stretching RSPCA'

The number of people convicted of animal cruelty in England and Wales rose by nearly a quarter last year, according to the RSPCA.

The charity says it is facing a funding crisis as a result of having to deal with so many cases, and its resources are being stretched.
