Tony Nicklinson was a fighter to the end, says solicitor
Tony Nicklinson, who was paralysed and tried to change the laws on euthanasia, has died at his home in Melksham in Wiltshire.
He suffered from locked-in-syndrome and had described his life as a "a living nightmare".
Mr Nicklinson's family said that his health deteriorated quickly at the weekend after he contracted pneumonia and he had refused food since last week.
Saimo Chahal, the family's solicitor, said Mr Nicklinson was ''gutsy, determined and a fighter to the end''.
