Historic piers face uncertain future

A Victorian pier is to be sold at auction for a guide price of about £200,000.

Part of South Parade Pier in Southsea was recently closed following safety concerns.

At the turn of the last century, there were almost a hundred piers in Britain, now only half remain and many face an uncertain future.
