Abdul: 'I can't make any plans for the future'

Abdul, now aged 17, came to the UK from Pakistan when he was 11. His family’s initial request for asylum was rejected, but they are appealing.

He says he is "stuck in limbo" and can't make plans for the future.

Almost 1,400 child asylum seekers have waited for more than five years for an initial decision about their right to remain in the UK, the BBC has found.
