A Dutch company has won a contract to run rail services in East Anglia until 2014.
Abellio Greater Anglia Limited will take over the Greater Anglia franchise in February 2012.
Abellio, part of Dutch firm NV Nederlandse Spoorwegen, will operate routes from London to Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
The firm has pledged to deliver improvements to stations and services during course of the contract.
Service improvements
Transport Minister Theresa Villiers said the firm will provide better ticket facilities and passenger information.
A text messaging service will be introduced to keep passengers informed of service disruption.
New information desks will be provided at Liverpool Street in London, Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich and Stansted Airport.
Abellio won the franchise from the Department of Transport ahead of bids from UK companies Stagecoach and Go-Ahead Group.
As part of the new contract a breakdown of punctuality figures by route will also be published.
