Bestival A3 crash: Two remain in hospital

Police said the crash was not thought to have been caused by the road conditions or the weather

Two people remain in hospital after a coach that was returning from a music festival on the Isle of Wight crashed in Surrey, killing three people.

Fifty others were injured when the Merseyside-based vehicle hit a tree on the A3 at Hindhead on 10 September.

Surrey Police said a 21-year-old man who was described as having life-changing injuries had been moved to a specialist unit near his home.

A woman, aged 20, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Driver Colin Daulby, 63, from Merseyside, Michael Molloy, 18, from Woolton, south Liverpool, and Kerry Lynne Ogden, 23, of Maghull, Liverpool, died when the 52-seater coach crashed between the Hindhead Tunnel and Thursley exit.

The family of Michael Molloy hope to release a song he recorded with fellow musician Alex Evans to raise money for survivors of the crash.

Festival fund

Mr Molloy's mother, Frances, told BBC Radio Merseyside she especially wanted proceeds of the CD to help support 21-year-old Zach Washington-Young.

On Tuesday Bestival promoter Robert Gorham - better known as Rob da Bank - said the festival planned to set up a fund for those affected by a coach crash.

Post-mortem examinations have been carried out on the three people who died and an inquest has been opened and adjourned.

Surrey Police said neither the road conditions nor the weather were thought to be factors in the crash.
