John Savage stands in Avon and Somerset police election

The Labour Party has selected its candidate for the Avon and Somerset police and crime commissioner election.
Chief executive of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Dr John Savage has announced he will stand for the party.
Dr Savage is also chairman of University Hospitals Bristol and is a former High Sheriff of the city.
If elected he said he wanted to act as a go-between for the public, police and government.
'New interface'
Police commissioners will be elected in England and Wales on 15 November.
Dr Savage came second in Labour's PCC selection process but became the candidate when Bob Ashford stepped down because of a childhood criminal conviction.
"I believe the great point about this is that it creates a new interface for people to get their voices, their thoughts and their worries into the police service," said Dr Savage.
"So, [the role will be] an interface between the police service and the people, and then create an interface between the people and the government."
Ken Maddock has been chosen as the Conservative candidate for the Avon and Somerset election, Pete Levy is standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate, Ian Kealey is the UKIP candidate and Sue Mountstevens is an independent candidate.
