In pictures: England's landscapes shown at railway stations

Railway stations across the country are to host a selection of pictures, including Peter Dobson's dramatic shot of a wave breaking on to the coast near Blackpool, to show off the best entries to a national photography competition.
The photos, all of which are previously commended by the judges of Network Rail's Landscape Photographer of the Year, capture places from across the British Isles that can be reached from one of the host railway stations, such as Newlands Valley in Cumbria, which was captured by Adam Burton.
David Biggs, director of commercial property for Network Rail, said stations were "natural exhibition spaces" in which to see "amazing photography", such as Simon Byrne's shot of Micheldever Woods, Hampshire.
He said the hope was that "the millions that come through our stations will be inspired to visit the fantastic places they can reach by rail and record their own amazing views with their cameras", just as Rosie Herbert was when she took this shot of Hitchin Lavender in Hertfordshire.
This year's Landscape Photographer of the Year competition is open to entries until 4 July and Mr Biggs said he hoped it would receive more photos that are a "natural fit" to an exhibition at a railway station, like David Baker's picture of The New Forest in Hampshire was.
The Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition, featuring Malcolm Blenkey's shot of Tarns Hows in autumn and many more photographs, opens at Manchester Piccadilly before moving on to Leeds, Glasgow Central and London's King's Cross and Waterloo across July and August.
