Northampton Town bosses have said they expect to be "fully compensated" after reports the Ricoh Arena's operator has withdrawn legal action against them.

Arena Coventry Ltd (ACL) took action against Town for letting Coventry City play games at their Sixfields Stadium - alleging a breach of contract.

But it has now been reported the action has been dropped.

Town said they were unaware ACL had withdrawn the action. Neither City nor ACL has commented to the BBC.

Coventry City has played five league games at Sixfields this season.

Town's managers said they had incurred "substantial legal fees".

"If ACL really does want to withdraw its action, we expect to be fully compensated for these costs," a spokesman said.

ACL earlier said it had a pre-existing contract in place with Coventry to host matches and issued a notice of intent to Northampton Town.

Coventry City has been in administration since March, prompting bosses to announce home games would be played at the Sixfields Stadium for three years.
