UK floods: Trains between Hereford and Shrewsbury resume

Operator Arriva Trains said train tickets will be accepted on replacement bus services

Rail services between Shrewsbury and Hereford have resumed following cancellations as a result of flooding.

Heavy rain caused flooding between Shrewsbury and Craven Arms, leading to all trains between the towns being stopped.

Services have restarted but National Rail Enquiries warned they could be amended, cancelled or delayed.

Homes and roads in parts of England and Wales have been flooded after Storm Angus.

Wind and rain is expected to continue to batter parts of the UK, causing flash flooding and travel chaos.

Forecasters warned conditions were not set to improve until later this week and further wet weather was expected to move north along with strong winds of up to 80mph.
