The Oyster travel card will be accepted at railway stations between London and Hertfordshire from next year.

The pay-as-you-go service will be available to commuters travelling from London Liverpool Street to Hertford East from February 2012.

Abellio Greater Anglia Limited has agreed to extend the scheme as part of its new franchise to run rail services in the region.

Stations such as Cheshunt and Brentwood in Essex will now accept the card.
