St Albans people asked for anti-social behaviour views

A Hertfordshire council is asking the public for their views on anti-social behaviour.

St Albans City and District Council wants to improve the way it handles drug dealing, noisy neighbours and anti-social drinking in public places.

It is asking residents to take part in an online survey and give their opinions on ways of reducing crime and disorder across the district.

Alternatively, a paper questionnaire is available on request from the council.

Crime in the district was down 9.6% for April to November 2011, when compared with the same period the year before.

Councillor Beric Read, portfolio holder for community engagement and localism, said: "The district is already a safe place and crime is on the decline.

"However, we recognise that some behaviour can have a negative impact on people's lives and we want to be sure we are handling cases in the right way."
