Two people received "serious injuries" in the crash
A Bedfordshire airfield has reopened following a light aircraft crash which seriously injured two people.
Emergency services were called to Cranfield Airport just before 13:45 BST.
An East of England Ambulance spokesman said the two casualties were flown to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Airport director Jason Ivie said the PA38 Tomahawk crashed on takeoff and came to rest within the airport boundary.
Bedfordshire Police said the Civil Aviation Authority would be investigating and Air Accident Investigation Branch officers were also assessing the crash.
The facility is used by flight training organisations, small business aircraft and private jets.
The airfield reopened on Wednesday evening.
