Double Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott says she questioned whether she deserved to be made an OBE.

Trott, 21, was at Buckingham Palace to receive the honour, for services to cycling, from the Prince of Wales.

The cyclist, from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, won the omnium and team pursuit at London 2012.

"I was talking to a soldier who was being honoured and thought maybe I do not deserve this because all I do is ride a bike," she said.

Despite the doubts, Trott, said the honour was "amazing".

"I have been so nervous," she said.

"It is more nerve-wracking than riding a bike, plus I am here with all of these amazing people who have done great things.

"I do not really feel I should be here for doing my day job but it has been so exciting - not just for me but for my family."

Trott also won two gold medals, in the omnium and team pursuit, at the World Championships in Melbourne last year.
